IOM Uganda donates to Nakivale Refugee Settlement Health Centre

May 09, 2017

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Uganda has donated an assortment of medical drugs and supplies to Nakivale Refugee settlement in the Western district of Isingiro.

The donation, from IOM Uganda’s Migration Health Assessment Centre, included drugs for bacterial infections, hypertension, ulcers and several other ailments.

They were handed over on Thursday at Nakivale Health Centre III, to representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Medical Team International, and the Office of the Prime Minister.

UNHCR and OPM officials thanked IOM Uganda for the support, the first of its kind in recent years.

Nakivale is hosting mostly Burundian and Congolese refugees. By January this year, the camp had 122,410 residents.
