Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Uganda IOM supports the Government to address migration challenges and build the capacity of relevant stakeholders.

IOM’s Migration Health Division (MHD) delivers and promotes comprehensive, preventive and curative health programmes for migrant and mobile populations, facilitating both migrants and host communities to pursue socioeconomic development through the social, physical and mental wellbeing of migrants. IOM’s Migration Health work falls in three broad programmatic areas:
- Migration Health Assessments and Travel Health Assistance (H1)
- Health Promotion and Assistance (H2)
- Migration Health Assistance for Crisis-Affected Populations (H3)
Under H1, IOM runs the Migration Health Assessment Centre in Naguru. Under H2, IOM is part of the Joint UN Programme of Support on Aids (JUPSA. And under H3, IOM has supported the Government in respective fights against Ebola Virus Disease and COVID-19
