Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Uganda IOM supports the Government to address migration challenges and build the capacity of relevant stakeholders.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been ac-credited in Uganda since 1988. As the UN Migration Agency, IOM is committed to the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society. IOM works with the Government of Uganda and other stakeholders in areas such as:
- Immigration and Border Management, including the Canada Visa Application Centre;
- Migrant Protection and Assistance;
- Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Preparedness and Response;
- Migration, Environment and Climate Change;
- Resettlement and Movement Management;
- Labour Mobility and Human Development (now Labour Migration and Social Inclusion);
- Migration Health, including Health Assessments and Travel Assistance (H1), Health Promotion (H2), and Migration Health Assistance for Crisis-Affected Populations (H3).
